daytoday

newbie for tomorrow..

if no one buys it, I think I’ll do a little more work on it another time

Newest Masterpiece :)

I worked on the music clef painting last night.  Wasn’t crazy about the cloud I had put at the bottom during the first session… so I struggled trying to find a way to tie the clouds into the rest of piece.

I came across an article in the Folly Current that summarized 2010’s amazing surf conditions, and decided to use scraps of it. If you look closely each newspaper bubble has 2 separate layers, and the words shown remind me of our time here on Folly thus far :)

I am reaaallly excited about how this piece came together last night!!

I may do a tiny bit of touching up… but I’m getting that good feeling that this one is finished :)

I figured out what I wanted to paint on top of the crazy doodle pattern today, so I think this one is about finished.. still need to sign it :)

from umbrella beast A lot of paintings feel as if they’re more about nostalgia than about the world today.  David Schnell, however, seems to build links between painting’s past and culture’s present.

most people know thiebaud by his cakes and gumball machines… but i’m more of a fan of his later work, when he moved to san francisco and started painting the crazy steep hills:)
