reasons why I love working at BHK...
I decorate the signs
I help with the flower arrangements for rehearsal dinners and other functions…
I get the chance to show off my paintings randomly…(mine are the tiny ones:) haha
and I can listen to fun music and meet interesting people under old oak trees <3
…to name a few :)
Art Critique
we are asked to integrate writing into the arts..
so I bring in my paintings every so often and have the kids write freely about them.
What they see, if they like it, how it makes them feel..there is no wrong answer..just wriiiitteee
It’s secretly a selfish move to hear some honest critique on my work haha, and children have surprising insight and fresh eyes sometimes..

Why I lovelovelovelove where I live...
today was just such a relaxing, ideal fall day.. I wanted to share it with you :)
Woke up at my leisure, got dressed and decided to take Rocko on a walk to Bert’s market for some (freeee) coffee.. it was one of those days when the air is warm but windy and overcast.. and it feels like it might rain all day, yet it never quite does. So we took a long detour…

I reblogged a pic a few weeks ago of someone melting crayons onto a canvas…decided this would be a new project for myself :)
My day job supplies me with unlimited amounts of small broken crayons.. grabbed a bag from school, glued down a swoon-worthy rainbow order, hit them with the hairdryer… and WALLAH!
The wax felt so cool to the touch when cooled down…and I love love...

had an absolutely wonderful time in Baltimore and in DC :) I can’t thank Brooke and Jessie enough for gettin’ me up there!!
It’s been exactly 1 year since I’ve been home to MD.. weird how fast time goes sometimes. Things haven’t changed much up there though, still packed and hustle/bustle and traffic and strip malls and condo high rises…
