today was just such a relaxing, ideal fall day.. I wanted to share it with you :)
Woke up at my leisure, got dressed and decided to take Rocko on a walk to Bert’s market for some (freeee) coffee.. it was one of those days when the air is warm but windy and overcast.. and it feels like it might rain all day, yet it never quite does. So we took a long detour…
Ended up walking up to 7th block, and then around on the beach collecting shells and letting Rocko run free off his leash. ((Which he did so great btw.. he would stay close by mostly..whenever he scampered too far, he’d come right back when I whistled.. i was so proud haha)) some uptight jogging woman got pissy though when Rocko walked up to her wagging his tail.. come on, he’s 9 lbs.. do you really need to make that face haha
When we finally got to bert’s … Mr. “best beard in Charleston” was working
he proceeded to fill my pockets with free dog treats for the boys, then I was off to wander some more, coffee in hand:)
When I finally got home, I opened all the windows, made egg sandwiches, watched the newest episodes of breaking bad aaaand project runway. All while making a wind chime out of the shells I just collected on my walk!
Then it was off to Brick House to chat with locals and tourists about the old house, and the good food..and such :)
Best Tuesday I’ve had in awhile..I’m diggin the Charleston Fall <3
I reblogged a pic a few weeks ago of someone melting crayons onto a canvas…decided this would be a new project for myself :)
My day job supplies me with unlimited amounts of small broken crayons.. grabbed a bag from school, glued down a swoon-worthy rainbow order, hit them with the hairdryer… and WALLAH!
The wax felt so cool to the touch when cooled down…and I love love the way they melted together into one mega-crayon, and organically mixed and swirled as they ran down the canvas:) I didn’t think I was finished with this.. but brought it to the eye level market last week to show off and a guy bought it for $40 :)
Sooooo.. of course this week I proceeded to use the rest of the crayons I had haha
I’ve worked almost every day the past 2 weeks.. either teaching or serving.. but managed to pop out a few (almost finished) pieces, all of which I’m really excited about!
had an absolutely wonderful time in Baltimore and in DC :) I can’t thank Brooke and Jessie enough for gettin’ me up there!!
It’s been exactly 1 year since I’ve been home to MD.. weird how fast time goes sometimes. Things haven’t changed much up there though, still packed and hustle/bustle and traffic and strip malls and condo high rises…
happy to get back to my little island, but wish I could convince my loved ones to come with me!!
