Coming to an end
I’ve been in enjoying life in the sunshine state alllllll week. FL has been amazing. Wonderful weather, got a bunch of quality time clocked with the family. A fab suntan, a book read, a went running almost everyday, went to a watermark, ate delicious food….I don’t want it to end.
Yet, all good things must. So tonight we spent the last night in the hot tub, fireworks surprised...
My spring break is coming to an end..well.. kinda. Spring break # 2 starts at 4am tomorrow when Billy drops me off for my train to FL for a week !!
I was hoping to be uber productive during these 5 days at home… ended up spending most of it on my bike, or taking walks that lasted hours. ehh I needed that :)
Today I spent the bulk of my day painting portraits of the 3 cats that live...

So bummed… the sea and sand festival is said to be the best folly festival and the “kick-off to summer”
It was canceled for today because of rain that never came (its sunny and gorgeous) and it’s reschedule to next week when I’m going to be in FLA :(:(

EEK! Art is controversial.. deal with it??
So I started a new lesson this week with my 6th graders. It was based on the Artist Keith Haring…
He used universal symbols to express his views on the issues he saw in the world.
I did this project in my middle school student teaching and it seemed appropriate and a good way to get the kids talking about problems they saw around them, most did global warming, or stop the war type...

Had sucha great day yesterday!
The art market was slow… there were a lot of big things going on around Charleston that we were competing with… but nonetheless I ended up selling TWO paintings :):)
The 2 newest ones I just painted were the ones that got scooped up.. glad I did those!! ( This and this)
I was on top the world!!
