so the holiday pbyoung elementary play is tomorrow and i have been working my fingers to the bone! as the art teacher it is expected that i make the costumes and the set! so for the past 2 weeks my classroom has been turned into a make shift costume sweat shop ( cut out a green felt vest, hot glue it, cut another one, hot glue it, cut, glue cut glue..etc)
i think ive made about 150 costumes/props/ accessories.. plus the backdrop and the title banner! haha
The play is called “Americans All” and its just a bunch of songs in different languages, and i made their costumes as stereotypical and probably offensive to each different culture haha ( irish=leprechauns… chinese =karate outfits, israelites= giant blinged out star of david around their necks.. haha) luckily my school is NOT diverse, so i’m not too worried about people getting offended :)
will be taking lotttss of photos and videos , and will share them asap :)
Decided to take a trip down to Charleston for Friday night and check it out. I had visited super briefly once before, and have always remembered loving the little taste that I got, so we came back for more haha. We explored downtown Charleston all afternoon Friday. Saw some amazing homes, and ships, and sights, had dinner at a cool little oysterbar. We went out to the chill local bars in Folly Beach (like 15 min south of Charleston) Friday night, and decided to go back to Folly Saturday morning for breakfast.
